Chesrown Automotive has acquired three Germain Motor Company dealerships in Sidney, Ohio, marking the company’s first major expansion under Jim Gill.

The sale, brokered by Chris Infantino, director at the Tim Lamb Group, closed June 3 and includes Germain Chevrolet-GMC, Germain Ford and Germain Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. The stores will be rebranded as Chesrown Chevrolet GMC of Sidney, Chesrown Ford of Sidney and Chesrown Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Sidney.

Chesrown Automotive, operated by the Gill family, also owns Chesrown Chevrolet GMC in Delaware, Ohio. Gill’s sons, Ryan and Joseph Gill, will oversee operations across all three Sidney locations, which collectively span nearly 20 acres. The Ford dealership, located at 2343 W. Michigan St., occupies 27,000 square feet on 11 acres. Across the street, the Chevrolet-GMC and CDJR stores sit side by side on 8.8 acres, each in a 16,000-square-foot building. The three stores feature more than 50 service bays outfitted with advanced diagnostic tools and equipment.

“We are excited for the opportunity to own seven domestic brands in one market,” said Jim Gill. “We look forward to serving the Sidney community as well as Dayton’s northern communities.”

The acquisition reflects a strategic shift for Germain Motor Company, which is refocusing efforts on other markets. The company continues to operate dealerships in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona and Montana. Germain had acquired the Chevrolet-GMC and CDJR stores from Dan Hemm in 2021. Hemm operated them for nearly four decades. The Ford dealership was purchased in 2023 from Buckeye Auto Group.
