The importance of education is imbedded in Ohio’s DNA. Ohio University, the state’s first institution of higher education, was chartered in 1787 and is the ninth oldest public university in the country. The state has a robust vocational school system, quality public schools and top-notch universities. While concerns over tuition costs are on the rise, Ohio in-state students shouldn’t be worried. According to The College Board, Ohio in-state students have seen almost no average tuition increase in the last 10 years when dollars are adjusted for inflation. Even some of our neighbors can’t claim that. In addition, Ohio’s average tuition costs remain in mid-range, making an Ohio education an affordable and quality investment. Research by Corinne Minard.
