Telehealth company Hims & Hers to expand presence in Ohio

Hims & Hers, the online-health and beauty brand, recently announced an expanded footprint in Ohio, bringing with it a new state-of-the-art facility and nearly 400 jobs.
The plan, which was announced in December, is expected to cost $200 million while expanding the company’s capabilities and reach.
“As more customers come to Hims & Hers to access the care they need, we’re growing our ability to meet demand for affordable, high-quality treatments,” says Mike Chi, chief operating officer of Hims & Hers. “We are proud to continue investing deeply in Ohio. The community and our operations here are key to our commitment to delivering a simple, safe and personalized experience for every customer who trusts us with their health and wellness journey.”
The company, which was founded in San Francisco in 2017, has operated in the Columbus area since 2019, according to JobsOhio, and is licensed by the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
The facility will allow the company to strengthen its current fulfillment, lab testing and pharmacy operations, which will help meet the telehealth demand that has been rapidly growing. The American Medicine Association reports that since the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for telehealth has increased; the percentage of doctors scheduling telehealth appointments has tripled, growing from just 25% of physicians in 2020 to 71% in 2025.
The expansion will also perhaps be a welcome one with the increasing popularity of GLP-1 agonists, a medicine that seeks to control blood sugar, appetite and digestion and, in turn, weight. As this boom continues across the United States, telehealth has assisted this, allowing people to get the medication without ever leaving their home. Today, following the launch of GLP-1 prescriptions by companies like Hims & Hers, one in eight U.S. adults are on the medication.

Hims & Hers expansion in the area is in step with a wider trend in the area. While much attention has been focused on the Intel facility that is due to open in the area, other sectors are also opening facilities in Central Ohio. According to JobsOhio, this trend is supported by the region’s more than 23,000 research and development professionals and the 26,000 life sciences-related degrees awarded in the last five years.
“The 400 new jobs Hims & Hers plans to create means 400 families will have new opportunities to grow and thrive here in Ohio,” says Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. “This investment strengthens the regional economy and demonstrates that Ohio is a place where innovative companies can succeed.”
Hims & Hers will be located at 9885 Innovation Campus Way, New Albany. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.
