Great Day Improvements to add nearly 1,000 jobs in Ohio

Great Day Improvements, the Cleveland-based home improvement company, announced that it will bring new jobs and economic development to the Cincinnati suburb of Sharonville at the city’s Champion Windows facility. Creating an estimated 583 jobs over five years, the expansion is expected to generate an estimated $30 million in payroll.
“With Ohio roots, we want to be here for growth and opportunity. It’s our partnerships with Ohio and local communities making that a reality,” says Great Day Improvements CEO Drew Weinfurtner. “Our community collaboration helps us lock in Ohio as Great Day’s center for growth, reinforcing our commitment to the state that built us.”
The announcement followed the Ohio Tax Credit Authority’s approval of an unspecified state tax credit and economic development incentives from JobsOhio, the state’s economic development corporation. The move marks an expansion of the company’s investment in the area. In 2022, Great Day Improvements acquired the Sharonville-based company, Champion Windows, along with its 240,000-square-foot facility where 332 people are employed.
The move should help the company continue to grow its presence in the home improvement industry, in which it is already a major player. Great Day Improvements, which originally began as two separate brands, Patio Enclosures and Stanek Windows, has become one of the state’s fastest-growing brands, according to REDI Cincinnati. Since its founding, the company has acquired other brands such as Leafguard and Apex Energy Solutions, leading it to not only be one of the state’s premier brands but also “one of the fastest-growing home improvement companies in North America,” according to the company.

“This is a historic day for the city of Sharonville and across the Buckeye State as we celebrate this major announcement,” says Sharonville Mayor Kevin Hardman. “Great Day’s expansion of their manufacturing operations in our community, facilitated in large part by their commitment to bringing 583 new jobs to our community, is a true game changer. We as a community are proud to support this expansion and thank the company and our development partners for their continued collaboration.”
In addition to the expansion in the Cincinnati area, Great Day Improvements will also add roughly 400 jobs around the Cleveland area. The suburbs of Walton Hills, New Bedford and Twinsburg will be sharing the new jobs and expanding the presence of the company in its home city.
“Great Day Improvements’ newest investments reinforce Ohio’s position as one of the nation’s leading building material and products manufacturers,” says Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. “The company’s decision to expand in Ohio and bring nearly 1,000 new jobs reflects our statewide strength in manufacturing and a second-to-none workforce that supports multiple industries and applications. In Ohio, we just make things better.”
Great Day Improvements has an expanding workforce of 4,800 employees across 125 metropolitan markets throughout the United States. The company has been ranked as the third-largest home improvement company in the nation by Qualified Remodeler and is among the fastest-growing private companies for a second consecutive year, according to JobsOhio.
